Atlanta, Georgia is the home to many hip hop artists, so it is no surprise that BET Networks has decided to host the 2010 BET HIP HOP AWARDS there. The event will take place on October 2, 2010 at the Atlanta Civic Center and will air on BET Networks on October 12, 2010. Who will be hosting the big event? The funny comedian Mike Epps will host for the awards show for the second year in a row.
Jay-Z 's dominating the ballot this year with 10 nominations. His singles, album, and his videos all domineered this years hip hop nominations. For a person that started with an underground record, Drake has done more to break the barriers and defy the odds in hip hop and has been nominated for 8 awards. Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross did not come short. They both received 7 nods. Although legal issues have been the center of attention this year for the self-proclaimed King of the South, T.I., Diddy, Waka Flocka, Swizz Beats, and B.O.B. have all been nominated this year.
